I just picked up a Toyo Kogyo Special at Allentown this past weekend ,no arsenal, no mum, no nothing. It has a really unusual finish, after a couple of days oil soaking the screws, I was finally able to take the action out of the stock It appears this gun was issued in the white ! There are no traces of blue on it any where even the hidden spots around the trigger group. The # on this one is 1549 ,which we thought " after discussion " it might be a extremely high # for one of these. Any Thoughts? _________________ ground guns are like dogs at the pound, you have to take one home |

I don't have much data on these, the majority of the 'special' rifle data was gathered by others and hasn't trickled down to me, I'll have to see what I have and get back to you. Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!
Fill out a Japanese Rifle Datasheet.
I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |

Trey, any info would be great. These guns are hard to find any info on. I have another one that has a metal tag screwed on the butt that is partially translated to read " aviation experimental ?????? " if that is of any interest . Thanks Bill _________________ ground guns are like dogs at the pound, you have to take one home |

Bill,
Please fill out a T99 Datasheet and send it to Trey. I think don't these get reported, as Trey indicated, because they fall into the "special" category. I think these and CC 99 should be reported just like stardard Type 99s. This will help paint a truer picture of 99 rifle production. Great find. That is what I get for not have my table set up - we would have been arm wrestling over that one. That is one Rifle I've been looking for a long time. Congrats!!!!! Thanks again for all of the hard work that went into getting the first Mid Atlantic Japanese Collectors together.
