Im looking forward to the trip, cant wait . Definitely the most fun a person can have, least wise with their clothes on. Well worth the trip for anyone that's the least bit into firearms or just having fun and a great chance to meet some of the most notable Authors & Knowledgable collectors in the area of Japanese weapons AND play with stuff you wont see anywhere else (other than a book) and would never get to handle. Food, fellowship and fun !!!!

If you have a Chinese Copy of the Type 30 Carbine, please bring it for me to examine. I'd still like to look over a few more emergency use rifles too. If you have one, and are planning to come to the shootout, please bring it as well. Thanks, Trey

Anyone interested in sharing a motel room in Ft Payne? This would be for Friday night. I apparently have a health issue, non catching, low BP, so my attending is "up in the air" at this point.

Weather looking like mid 70's and rain likely, but they are usually a couple days off on the long forecasts...We'll see...If you have a canopy, you might ought to bring it, just in case..

Rain Sat? Last time that happened Stan Zielinski (author of the Murata book) was visiting and was going to the shoot with us, Kathleen,, my late wife. and me. I woke up Sat morning feeling funny in my chest, took two aspirin and drove to the ER. They gave me an arterorgram (sp.) and cut me from heel to neck, five bypasses. Kathleen was called and Stan awoke to an empty house. George Taylor drove up, collected Stan and took him to the shoot with my movie camera. All you could hear was rain on the tarp.

Don't like to hear about rainy shoot-out weekends, Trey you ready to take me to the Birmingham hospital?

You'd get there a lot faster by 'conventional carrier' with all the blinkies, the sirens, and highly trained professionals, but if you insist...
